Microbas tests and pushes the boundaries of precision machining of advanced materials such as Invar and Titanium
Microbas has experience of machining a range of alloys for different applications such as:
Invar
Invar is an ultra low expansion alloy between iron and nickel that is often used together with glass ceramics and combined with Zerodur. The alloy Invar is a very strong material that is used among other things for turbine blades in jet engines. Invar expands very little in conjunction with temperature changes, making it suitable for precision instruments.
Titanium
Titanium is a low expansion, light metal, which has excellent technical properties and does not corrode. It is often used in alloys within aerospace technology, as well as in the manufacture of implants intended for the human body.
We test out new materials in our machines to determine optimal process parameters for highest possible accuracy and welcome working with clients with applications using new materials.
